Accounting & Bookkeeping

Books you can actually make decisions from.

Most small businesses reconstruct a year of accounts in the week before the filing deadline, which is how errors and missed deductions happen. We keep your books monthly — reconciled, categorised and current — so compliance becomes a formality and you can see your real margins along the way.

What Accounting is, and who it applies to

Bookkeeping is the foundation everything else sits on. GST returns, income tax, TDS and any loan application all draw on the same underlying ledger. When the ledger is wrong or six months behind, each of those becomes a scramble, and the errors compound.

Beyond compliance, monthly books answer the questions that actually run a business: which products carry real margin, how much is locked in receivables, whether payroll is outgrowing revenue. Annual accounts prepared in a rush tell you none of this in time to act.

TDS is where small businesses most often get caught. Deducting on contractor payments, rent, professional fees and commission — then depositing by the 7th and filing quarterly returns in Form 24Q or 26Q — is a steady obligation, and the penalties for missing it are disproportionate to the amounts involved.

We work in Tally, Zoho Books or Excel, whichever you already use. The goal is not to change your systems but to keep them accurate and current.

Who needs Accounting

  • Proprietorships and partnerships without an in-house accountant
  • Private limited companies needing statutory books maintained
  • Businesses deducting TDS on contractor, rent or professional payments
  • Startups preparing for a funding round or due diligence
  • Businesses applying for working capital or term loans
  • Anyone whose books are behind and need bringing current

Why it matters

Monthly, not annual

Books closed within ten days of month-end, so you always know where the business stands.

TDS handled properly

Deduction, deposit by the 7th and quarterly returns, with Form 16A issued to your vendors.

Loan-ready statements

Clean P&L and balance sheet in the format banks and NBFCs expect, when you need them.

One team across filings

The people keeping your books are the people filing your GST and ITR, so nothing is lost in handover.

Documents required

Scans on WhatsApp are fine. We check every document against the officer's checklist before filing.

To get started

  • Bank statements for the period, in Excel or PDF
  • Sales and purchase invoices
  • Expense bills and payment vouchers
  • Existing Tally or Zoho backup, if any
  • Loan statements and EMI schedules
  • Payroll register and employee details
  • Previous year's financial statements and ITR

How we do it

  1. 1

    Review what exists

We assess your current books, identify gaps and agree an opening position before recording anything new.

  2. 2

Set up the chart of accounts

Structured so your reports answer real questions rather than just satisfying the auditor.

  3. 3

    Monthly recording

Sales, purchases, expenses, bank and cash entered and reconciled every month.

  4. 4

    Statutory compliance

TDS deducted and deposited, quarterly returns filed, GST data prepared from the same ledger.

  5. 5

    Monthly reporting

P&L, balance sheet and a short commentary on what moved and why.

What it costs

We do not publish a rate card, because the right fee depends on your entity type, turnover and how much of the groundwork is already done. Tell us what your business does and we will quote a fixed figure for your case — before you commit to anything.

We quote a fixed professional fee for your case before any work begins, and it excludes GST. Government fees, where applicable, are shown separately and paid directly to the department. Statutory fees and thresholds change by notification — we confirm the current position for your case before you commit.

What non-compliance costs

  • TDS deposited late attracts interest at 1.5% per month
  • Late TDS return filing: ₹200 per day under section 234E until filed
  • Expenses can be disallowed where TDS was deductible but not deducted
  • Companies must maintain proper books under the Companies Act, with penalties for default

Accounting — frequently asked questions

Do I need bookkeeping if my business is small?

If you are registered for GST, deduct TDS, or intend to apply for any loan, then yes — the ledger those depend on has to exist and be accurate. Below that it is a commercial decision, but businesses that keep monthly books consistently catch leakage that annual filers never see.

Which software do you work in?

Tally, Zoho Books and Excel are all fine, and we adapt to whichever you already use. If you have no system yet, we will recommend one based on your transaction volume rather than defaulting to the most expensive option.

My books are two years behind. Can you fix that?

Yes. Backlog cleanup is common work. We reconstruct from bank statements and available invoices, identify what is genuinely missing, and bring you to a current, reconciled position. It is quoted separately from ongoing monthly work because the effort varies a lot.

Is TDS return filing included?

It is included in the Growth and Full Compliance plans. On the Starter plan it can be added. TDS work involves quarterly returns in Form 24Q and 26Q plus issuing Form 16 and 16A to deductees.

Will you work alongside my existing CA?

Yes, and it is a common arrangement. We handle the monthly bookkeeping and routine compliance while your CA handles audit and advisory. Clean monthly books usually make their work faster and cheaper.
