Net Worth Certificate for Visa

Proof of financial standing, in the format embassies accept.

A net worth certificate is a chartered accountant's formal statement of your assets less liabilities as on a given date. Embassies ask for it with student and visitor visa applications, and tender committees ask for it as proof of financial capacity. It is only accepted when issued by a practising CA with a valid UDIN.

What Net Worth Certificate is, and who it applies to

The certificate sets out immovable property, investments, bank balances, business interests and other assets, against loans and other liabilities, arriving at a net worth figure as on a specified date. It must be signed by a chartered accountant in practice and carry a Unique Document Identification Number, which allows the receiving authority to verify the certificate is genuine on the ICAI portal.

The most common use is visa applications, particularly for students. An embassy assessing a study visa wants evidence that tuition and living costs can genuinely be met, and a net worth certificate supported by valuation reports and bank statements is the standard way to show it. Different countries have different expectations about supporting documents and how recent the certificate must be.

Certificates are also required for government and corporate tenders, where a minimum net worth is a qualifying criterion, and for loan applications where the lender wants an independent statement of the borrower's position.

The quality of the supporting documentation matters more than the certificate itself. Property valuations should come from a registered valuer, investments should be evidenced by current statements, and the figures should tie to your income tax returns. Certificates with unsupported asset values are exactly what visa officers look for, and they cause refusals.

Every certificate carries a Unique Document Identification Number, verifiable independently on the ICAI portal.

We assemble the valuation reports and statements that make the figures credible, rather than issuing a bare certificate.

How we do it

  1. 1

    Requirement check

We confirm which country or authority the certificate is for, since format expectations and the recency required differ.

  2. 2

    Document collection

Asset and liability documents assembled. We tell you specifically what is missing rather than issuing on incomplete evidence.

  3. 3

    Valuation support

Where property is involved, we arrange a registered valuer's report — a certificate quoting unsupported property values is a common cause of refusal.

  4. 4

    CA certification

A practising chartered accountant verifies the documents and issues the certificate with a UDIN.

  5. 5

    Delivery

You receive the signed certificate with the complete supporting schedule, ready for submission.

What it costs

We do not publish a rate card, because the right fee depends on your entity type, turnover and how much of the groundwork is already done. Tell us what your business does and we will quote a fixed figure for your case — before you commit to anything.

We quote a fixed professional fee for your case before any work begins, and it excludes GST. Government fees, where applicable, are shown separately and paid directly to the department. Statutory fees and thresholds change by notification — we confirm the current position for your case before you commit.

Net Worth Certificate — frequently asked questions

Who can issue a net worth certificate?

Only a chartered accountant in practice, and the certificate must carry a valid UDIN. Certificates without a UDIN are not verifiable and are routinely rejected by embassies and tender committees. If you are offered one without it, that is a clear warning sign.

How long is a net worth certificate valid?

It states your position as on a specific date rather than carrying an expiry. In practice most embassies want one issued within the last three to six months, and some are stricter. Check your specific requirement — we will advise based on the country.

Do I need a property valuation report as well?

If immovable property forms part of your net worth, yes — and it should come from a registered valuer. Visa officers scrutinise property values closely, and a figure stated without an independent valuation is one of the more common reasons financial documents get questioned.

Can I include my parents' assets for a student visa?

Where a parent is the financial sponsor, a certificate is generally prepared in the sponsor's name, accompanied by an affidavit of support and proof of relationship. Requirements vary by country, so tell us which embassy you are applying to and we will structure it correctly.

How quickly can this be done?

Two to five working days with complete documents. Urgent processing is available where a visa appointment is imminent. The realistic constraint is usually assembling property valuations and bank statements, not the certification itself.

Net Worth Certificate by city
